I came across an article today about the political situation, and it reminded me how tense things are right now.
The corruption, deception, and erosion of basic humanity and lawfulness have grown so overwhelming that anyone with a conscience would walk away feeling powerless to change it.
That sense of powerlessness is a natural, empathetic reaction to the deplorable events unfolding right now.
Without diving into the news itself and feeding the wolf, I wanted to share what has helped me accept that, for now, yes—I am powerless in these situations, but there are still healthy ways for me to manage the helplessness that comes with it.
- Move from helplessness to hope. Trust that a way to end this rule of lawlessness and harm to others will show itself. That’s a hard one but we are not alone and we are all interconnected. Darkness is the minority here.
- Use your unique gifts to make those small positive impacts on the world, and trust that it will have a tremendous effect on the big picture over time. You cannot stop a war, but you can control your actions. Your kindness to others and your caring for the environment and of all humanity matter.
- Know that your higher self, which you have worked your entire life to become conscious of, is using this for an even deeper understanding and for a deeper enlightened heart/mind.
- Use your inner wisdom to connect with the spiritual realm to find calm and from there, be that calm in the storm.
- Limit your intake of the media coming at you. Most of it is distorted anyways but also most of it is designed to keep you in a state of fear. I saw in my mind recently how hate needs hate to feed on to prevail. Don’t feed it. Don’t make it about a person or people. Hate is an energy and an energy that feeds off the hate you may have for the individuals themselves. See it for what it is. It can’t prevail without us feeding it.
- Lastly, if it all seems overwhelming still, ground yourself, be present, spend time in nature and breathe.
BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD
